The Engelbrecht family has made Rust en Vrede a destination for both wine and food. A winery with a long history in Stellenbosch, a renowned restaurant, and a wine cellar that has garnered international attention.

Fabio Daniel’s cooking is modern, playful, and full of flavor. At Rust en Vrede in South Africa, he works closely with the ingredients, creating dishes with distinct flavors and unexpected combinations, in a kitchen where both precision and curiosity have a place.

Rust en Vrede is best known for its red wines, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot taking center stage. Power, elegance, and a distinct Stellenbosch character. In recent years, high-quality white wines have also taken on a more prominent role.

On September 23, a segment of *Rust en Vrede* will come to Trosa.

Executive Chef Fabio Daniel is traveling from Stellenbosch with his team—including his sous chef and pastry chef—for a guest appearance at Bomans.
Fabio joined Rust en Vrede as a young chef and has led the kitchen since 2017. His cuisine is rooted in French cooking, with influences from his Brazilian and Italian heritage and the ingredients of South Africa.

For the evening, Fabio is preparing a five-course menu. We’ll be pairing it with select wines from Rust en Vrede—chosen so that the food and wine can shine together.

Stellenbosch is simply facing Trosa.
